After stepping in from the cold, guests want a warm welcome, so make sure your heat is turned on to a comfortable temperature. A programmable thermostat can help if you're not going to be home when prospective buyers visit.

Also, if you have a fireplace, fire it up and place furniture around it to create a cozy feeling.
