Home Energy Score

What is Home Energy Score?

The Home Energy Score is a standardized method for evaluating the energy efficiency of a property based on its inherent components. The United States Department of Energy developed it in 2012 to provide homeowners, buyers, or renters an understanding of how their dwellings performed on an energy efficiency scale.

Why is a Home Energy Score required?

Upon receiving a Home Energy Score report, residents will know where their home stands regarding its energy score rating. This way, if there are issues that could mitigate energy waste, a person will know they have that option, resulting in savings such as lowered electricity bills.
